The Rolex Air-King 40 Ref. 126900 is a distinctive stainless-steel sports watch inspired by Rolex’s long association with aviation. It features a 40mm Oystersteel case, black dial, Oyster bracelet, and Rolex Calibre 3230 automatic movement.

40mm Oystersteel Case
The Air-King 126900 uses a 40mm Oystersteel case with a smooth bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, screw-down case back, and Twinlock screw-down crown.
Introduced with this generation are crown guards and straighter case sides, giving the 126900 a more purposeful sports-watch profile compared with the previous Air-King 116900.
The Oyster case is factory rated for 100 meters of water resistance. For a pre-owned watch, current water resistance should still be verified through pressure testing before exposure to water.
Distinctive Black Air-King Dial
The black dial features large 3, 6 and 9 numerals for the hours alongside a prominent minute scale designed to evoke navigational time readings.
The 126900 also updated the previous generation’s dial by displaying “05” instead of “5” at the one-o’clock position, creating a more balanced two-digit minute scale.
The hands and 3, 6 and 9 numerals feature Rolex’s Chromalight display with long-lasting blue luminescence for improved visibility in low-light conditions.

Inside the Air-King 126900 is the Rolex Calibre 3230, a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex.
It provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and features a blue Parachrom hairspring and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers. As a Rolex Superlative Chronometer, the finished watch is specified to an accuracy of approximately -2/+2 seconds per day after casing.
Oyster Bracelet and Oysterlock Clasp
The watch is fitted with a three-piece solid-link Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel. Unlike the previous Air-King generation, reference 126900 uses an Oysterlock safety clasp, helping prevent accidental opening.
It also includes Rolex’s Easylink comfort extension system, allowing the bracelet to be extended by approximately 5mm without tools.
